2024-2025 Season Education Program

The Orchestra Rocks

One universal element of music is rhythm. Composers and musicians play with elements of musical time, creating patterns of sound and silence that are expressive and exciting. A consistent groove can unite musicians, singers, and audiences in an experience of listening and performing together. Through the Link Up repertoire, hands-on activities, and a culminating interactive performance with a professional orchestra, we will discover how the orchestra rocks.

All About Link Up

Introduce your students to the orchestra by helping them get ready to become a part of it!

In collaboration with Carnegie Hall, The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra is participating in Link Up – The Orchestra Rocks, a music education program provided by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, during the 2024-2025 season. Link Up is a hands-on music program for students in grades 3–5 that explores orchestral repertoire in the classroom while preparing students to sing and play recorders or string instruments from home in a culminating live LSO Link Up concert. If you teach recorder, singing, or beginning violin, this program is a must!

Carnegie Hall has created some incredible resources. Set your students or child up for success by exploring everything this program has to offer!
